This 1968 Maserati Ghibli coupe was sold new in Italy and imported in the 1970s to California, where it was purchased by the selling dealer in 2015. Power is provided by a 4.7L quad-cam V8 that is equipped with four Weber downdraft carburetors and paired with a five-speed ZF gearbox. A cosmetic refurbishment of the exterior was performed between 2016 and 2019 at a cost of over $70k. Work included a repaint and re-plating chrome brightwork, as well as installing new body seals, gaskets, and weatherstripping. Maintenance performed in 2015, shortly before the seller's purchase, included rebuilding the water pump, replacing the radiator hoses and ancillary drive belts, and cleaning the carburetors. The Ghibli was styled by Ghia's Giorgetto Giugiaro, and 1,170 coupe models were produced between 1967 and 1973. Beginning in 2016, Muncie Imports & Classics in Muncie, Indiana stripped the car down, repaired bodywork on the left front section, and refinished it in a copper color. The bumpers, window trim, moldings, and door handles were also re-chromed.Campagnolo wheels are secured by octagonal knock-offs and wear BFGoodrich tires. The brake booster was rebuilt in 2015, and the hard lines were also replaced.The interior is upholstered in white and features a contrasting black dashboard, carpets, and center console. The seller states that the front seats have been refinished in vinyl. The driver-side window motor was replaced during the seller's ownership, and the door locks were also repaired.A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 300-km/h speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer. Additional Veglia Borletti instrumentation includes a fuel level indicator, oil pressure gauge, ammeter, water and oil temperature gauges, and a clock. The 4.7-liter DOHC V8 is equipped with dry-sump lubrication and four dual-barrel Weber carburetors. It was rated for over 300 horsepower when new. A previous owner reportedly replaced the clutch and installed a CDI ignition system. Service in 2015 included rebuilding the water pump, cleaning the carburetors, and replacing the radiator hoses and ancillary drive belts. A 2015 compression test produced 145-160 psi across all eight cylinders. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
