Bought this on eBay from the second owner. He bought it from the first owner 5 years prior and kept it garaged, never really using it. When I was looking around for a Spitfire to buy (I needed a backup car at the time), I had a lot of trouble finding one with little to no rust. With only about 27000 original miles, this Spitfire has very little rust on a couple parts of the body. Paint and interior are still in very nice condition. The owner had the receipts from the first owner for everything done on the car since it was bought. Unfortunately, in my haste, I decided to buy this Spitfire sight unseen. It ran great for about 15 miles after I received it. Then it started running really badly. Pulled the plugs, and they were so fouled with carbon that they couldn't spark anymore. The previous owner conveniently forgot to mention this problem (although I knew something was wrong when I saw "sold AS IS" in the bill of sale). After getting this problem (and several others) fixed, the car drives quite well and is fun to drive!
